It’s likely the tool either built a bad default.dll or built an older version.

Article explicitly states that it modifies and/or replaces the file:

BACK UP ANY FILES BEING MODIFIED!!!!

If you had, you probably could have simply put it back.

Of course, the tool should’ve checked versioning first AND backed up default.dll before putting in the new one…
